Timing

So, he's popped the question and they've set a date and now it is your time to shine. Get ready for a fun and exciting planning process that will leave your bride gushing with smiles and laughter!

Start planning the celebration 12-16 weeks out and lock down the theme and guest count as soon as possible. If you're having a hard time coming up with a theme to fit the bride's personality to a T, we recommend letting the bride's favorite colors guide your thinking. Keep it simple and go with something creative but remember to leave the tissue paper and streamers at home.

As far as invitations go, order them 8-12 weeks in advance and then send them out 6-8 weeks before the event to ensure a timely RSVP. Make sure you lock down the RSVP date at least 2 weeks before the event so you have time to prep the food, drinks and party favors.

When the week of hits prep everything you can and keep day-of duties to a minimum!

Key components

Now that you've compiled your guest list, this time should be dedicated to the key components of the event including invitations, food + drink, games, and favors.

Once you've locked down your theme, it is important to try to intertwine it throughout all of these components. Invitations should include your color scheme at the least but try to get creative with the design.

When it comes to food + drink, reinvent the menu! Try something new and remember it doesn't have to be a full menu either. We love the idea of dessert bars and thinking of little things to ensure that every detail incorporates the theme!

If you're trying to think of ways to make your bridal shower lively and fun, think up an activity using your theme as the guide. If it's an elegant lunch or dinner, include a wine tasting or center your party around the activity by having a cooking class for the shower!

Gifts for the Bride

All in all, the ideas and theme of your event is what will shine through on the day of the celebration. It's also important to remember the party should include a gift for the bride (bonus if it fits the theme!) and can be one she will be able to use in the future.

Thank you cards are a great idea for the bride and you can order them so that they are customized to your theme. We also love items that can be keepsakes for the bride including recipes or a book of advice.
